Discovering My Inner Con
I’ve been deceiving myself.
I find the lie
When eyed spam from psychics
Caused my stomach’s flip.
Please, Sister Charlatan,
Tell my bunko bosom
What it wants to hear.

I really want your narrator to hear good things from Sister Charlatan, but I’m not sure the meaning of “eyed spam.”

“eyed Spam” is Spam I can/did see. Not great and not clear, I guess, but I liked how it flowed.
Thanks for reading and responding, Nate!

I like the bluntness of those last three lines. They add a real punch. Nice job!

Thanks for visiting, commenting and appreciating, Christine. Can you please direct me to the place on Yeah Writes where I can read others’ work or link to it? I can’t seem to locate it. Thanks.

Sure! It’s the same place you went to submit your poem to yeah write. Here are direct links to this week’s grids:
fiction | poetry: http://yeahwrite.me/fiction-poetry-writing-challenge-192/
nonfiction: http://yeahwrite.me/nonfiction-writing-challenge-192/
microfiction will open at midnight tonight (Eastern). Check http;//yeahwrite.me for the link to the “microfiction grid is open” post after midnight.
At the bottom of each post there’s a blue button that says “Click to view or add your post.” That’s the one you want!
On Thursday, all three grids will open for voting, and you can read all the submissions that made it to the voting grid in one place. Check the main site for that link on Thursday.
Hope this helps!

OH. I wondered why I couldn’t vote, yet. Forgot the sequence. Only my 2nd week at Yeah Writes. Thanks!

No worries! Are you subscribed to the yeah write e-mail blast? We send out the schedule every week – it’s handy as a reminder. Also, if you’re ever in doubt, you can check the FAQ: http://yeahwrite.me/how-yeah-write-works/

I subscribed but got nothing, the first week. Then I tried to re-subscribe but it said I was already subscribed. So, I get some announcements but not all. It’s mysterious.
Thanks, though!

Hmm, do you use gmail? Sometimes our mailer gets automatically sorted into one of gmail’s Categories (Social or Updates, usually). We send them out once or twice a week – always on Sunday, and usually on Thursday as well. Look for messages from getsocial@yeahwrite.me.

I use both Yahoo and Gmail. I signed up with both. I get some messages via gmail, but only occasionally and hardly any via Yahoo.

Hmm. I haven’t heard of anything like that happening before… Very strange!
