Fantastic article about not using the “Poet Voice.” I’m a poet, and I didn’t even know there was one! Perhaps it’s because I wasn’t “schooled” in poetry, but just write poetry because I love language. I’m quite certain I don’t read in a “poet’s voice” – my accent alone prevents this (at least that’s what I’m told, that I’m more of a performance poet) 🙂
