You don’t have to be Jewish or celebrate the #Jewish High Holy Days (Rosh Hashona, Jewish New Year, and Yom Kippur, the “Day of Atonement”) to want to spend some time considering your life and your goals/ accomplishments each year. I was raised Jewish, but I am a practicing #Buddhist.

Again this year, the group running this event (http://www.rebooters.net/) has offered 10 important reflective and predictive questions. These are only available through September 22 or 23, so get going!

Here is one of my 2025 questions and responses, from the Vault:

1.

Describe a significant experience that has happened in the past year. How did it affect you? Are you grateful? Relieved? Resentful? Inspired?

Your Answer:

I moved into a “senior dorm” in September, 2024, after living with a friend and being insecurely housed, otherwise, since leaving my mom’s condo in St. Louis in February, 2024. This mostly low-income, HUD-subsidized housing is one high rise in the city, near three hospitals, public transportation, and downtown. I have never lived in a place like this, nor in a city, and it is quite an adjustment. It’s also my first time without a car since I was in college, so that’s been a challenge.
I am grateful to have affordable housing and many services for low-income seniors that I do utilize, but a lot of the circumstances of my situation are not what I would have chosen, had I had more money.
